Connect Your PS5 Mouse and Keyboard Together [Guide]

Some games on the Playstation 5 feel better to play on keyboard and mouse instead of the Dual Sense controller. Some FPS shooters like Call of Duty: Warzone even give the option of playing with the keyboard and mouse on Playstation 5.

While using keyboard and mouse has its advantages, players choosing this option won’t feel the rumble of the Dual Sense controller or use its touchpad.

In this article, we’ll cover different ways how you can connect your PS5 mouse and keyboard together, how they can be adjusted, and a few keyboard and mouse enabled games.

Connecting A Wired Keyboard or Mouse to the Playstation 5

Connecting a wired keyboard or mouse is as simple as plugging in a USB-A or USB-C cable to your PS5. Of the 3 methods, this will be the simplest way to connect your devices. You may also want to use a USB switch in case you’re already using all the PS5 USB ports.

Pros

  • Simplest to connect
  • Nearly universal compatibility
  • Least amount of input delay

Cons

  • Cable management may be needed
  • Limited by USB slot space if they are used for other things such as charging or connecting a wireless headset
  • Must be unplugged if used for other devices such as PC or other game consoles
  • Wires are damage overtime or from accidents

Connecting A Wireless Keyboard or Mouse to the Playstation 5

Players can connect wireless keyboards and mice to their PS5 by plugging the wireless receiver into the USB port. It’s about as simple as their wired part, except without the wires.

Pros

  • No wires to worry about
  • Some wireless keyboards and mice are combined to use only 1 USB port
  • Typically less input delay than Bluetooth

Cons

  • Devices will need to be recharged
  • More delay compared to wired
  • Wireless receivers are damaged over time or from accidents

Connecting a Bluetooth Keyboard or Mouse to the Playstation 5

Connecting Bluetooth keyboards and mice is the physically cleanest solution because it doesn’t involve a wire or receiver.

However, it is the most complicated solution because players will need to pair their devices from the Playstation 5 Bluetooth Settings. Also, players should check their devices first compatibility because not all Bluetooth keyboards and mice are not compatible with the PS5.

Bluetooth Pairing Steps

  1. Begin searching for your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse:
Settings -> Accessories -> General -> Bluetooth Accessories
  2. Make your keyboard and mouse discoverable (usually by long-pressing a button to connect)
  3. Select your devices once they show on the screen

Note: Not all Bluetooth devices are compatible with the Playstation 5

Pros

  • No physical cable or receiver needed
  • No USB ports used
  • Some devices can pair to multiple systems and switch pairing modes with a simple button push

Cons

  • Not all devices are compatible
  • Devices will need to be recharged
  • Typically has the most input delay of the 3 types of device
