ToggleHow to Get Cursed Gear
Cursed Gear has a randomized chance of dropping with other gear items after finishing Ghost of Tsushima: Legends game modes. Players can increase their chances of getting Cursed Gear items by playing higher difficulty game modes.
Since it was introduced, Cursed Gear was added to the item drop pool alongside regular and legendary items. Because of this, the best way to increase your chances of getting Cursed Gear is to finish game modes at legendary or higher difficulty as fast as possible.
What Does Cursed Gear Do?
When initially checking Cursed Gear, you’ll find that they are worse in every way compared to regular gear plus they have negative effects. But they are important to increase your ghost’s power in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
Cursed Gear is only useful once it is purified. Purified gear serves 2 purposes:
Bypass Gear Mastery Challenges
Some of the Gear Mastery challenges are more difficult than others depending on the class the gear is attached to. Or in some cases the number of resources you have when the challenge requires dismantling other items.
For example: A Gear Mastery challenge requires players to deal 5,000 assassination damage. This will take much longer to complete than other perks, especially if the item is not bound to an Assassin.
Rolling 2nd Gear Perks
After you level a piece of gear to 120, it is now eligible to receive a 2nd perk. The currency for rolling the 2nd perk is used Purified Cursed Gear. Rerolling the 2nd perk also uses Purified Cursed Gear as currency.
Parts of a Cursed Gear Item
Cursed gear can be easily spotted in your inventory from their red coloring. Both the icon and gear item description box are red.
Cursed gear is similar to normal gear but with negative effects. Like normal gear items, they have 4 main components:
Gear Ki Level
The gear ki level of Cursed Gear will always be lower than 100 and sometimes even lower than 30.
Pay attention to your overall ki level when equipping Cursed Gear because it may prevent you from playing Nightmare or Legendary difficulty game modes.
Negative Properties
These can make your weapons weaker, make your Ghost have less health, and more.
Curses
Curses are negative perks for your item and add an extra layer of making your Ghost weaker.
Curses and Purifications are paired meaning that a curse will always have the same Purification Ritual.
