How to Get Avada Kedavra
Players can learn Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy as a reward for the quest In the Shadow of the Relic. In order to learn the spell, players must accept Sebastian’s offer to teach the Unforgivable Curse.
If players initially refuse to learn the spell, Sebastian will give a second chance to learn while meeting later at the Undercroft.
How to Use
Spell Effect: Kills almost enemy instantly.
Cooldown Time: 90 seconds
- Like the other Unforgivable Curses, this spell breaks through all 3 colors of shields (Red, Yellow, Purple).
- This spell instantly kills most enemies, even trolls. Exceptions to this are Inferni and the Final Boss.
- Players can chain the spell to multiple enemies with the Avada Kevadra talent.
- This spell has the longest cooldown in the game. Because of this, players should use other spells to take down enemies.
- This spell changes camera view and has a long start up time to cast. The player is invulnerable to all attacks during this time and can also change Spell Wheels, if needed.

Cast Crucio on the enemy with the highest health and proceed to cast Basic Attacks. Each Basic Attack will spread a curse to the nearest non-cursed enemy to further enhance Avada Kedavra Mastery.
Basic Cast Mastery
Avada Kedavra has an exceptionally long cooldown of 90 seconds. Shorten the cooldown with each Basic Cast and the Basic Cast Mastery talent.
Imperio Mastery
To further enhance Avada Kedava Mastery talent, players will want to curse as many enemies as possible. Imperio Mastery enables enemies under your Imperio spell to spread curses to enemies.
Enduring Mastery
This talent increases curse duration, giving the player more time to curse enemies before using Avada Kedavra.
