Team Healer
The Ronin has been described as the healing class of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends and if you are interested in playing a healer then this class is for you.
With a healing area ability or healing effect that can be added to a Ronin’s ultimate ability, you will be able to keep your teammates alive. And if they go down, your ultimate ability can revive them from anywhere on the map.
Pet Master
Ronins in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends can have a spirit hound instead of their healing class ability if you prefer to fight with a pet. With a charm perk, you can turn your pet into a healing beacon or into a spirit bear. You can even have a healing spirit bear if you level your charm to level 120 and get both perks.
Ghost Weapon Damage Dealer
Even though the Ronin is primarily a healer, he has an ability that gives him more ghost weapon damage than the other classes.
Increase Ghost Weapon damage through his perk 1 “Enhanced Ghost Weapons” and combine it with the Spirit Kunai.

Unique Gear
The Ronin in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends has a few items that are not available to the other classes that make him even more unique. Finishing game modes with the Ronin will give the player an increased chance of getting these class-specific gear items.
Bomb Pack
Gear Slot: Ranged
Throw damaging concussion bombs. Landing a blast very close to an enemy will throw them a small distance
- The legendary Bomb Pack, Forbidden Medicine, also has a much higher chance to drop for the Ronin.
- Black Powder Bombs (unlocked through the weapon perk) count as Ghost Weapons and are affected by Ronin Perk 1: Enhanced Ghost Weapons.
Ronin Charm
Gear Slot: Charm
An advanced charm that improves Ronin class abilities
This charm can only be equipped by the Ronin class in Ghost of Tsushima Legends. It also has unique properties and perks that cannot be found on other charms:
- Healing Incense Radius Property
- Healing Incense Duration Property
- Healing Bear Perk
- Healing Spirit Perk
Best Ronin Gear
Katana
Most Katanas used for Ronin are mainly based on personal preference since none are necessarily “must-have”. Most Legendary (orange) and all purple rarity Katanas work well for the Ronin. Stance is also reliant on player preference.
Stone Striker – Ronin players who have a hard time against Oni or other bigger enemies will get more benefit from this Katana since it comes with Heavenly Strike.
Ranged
Ronin in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends have access to short bows, bomb packs, or dartguns (unlocked through perk).
Bomb packs will be the best choice for most Ronins since they interrupt enemies and do area of effect damage. The Black Powder Bombs (unlocked through perk) do even more base damage than standard bombs and deal additional fire damage. Black Powder bomb base damage is also increased from ghost weapon damage bonuses and the Ronin Perk 1 Enhanced Ghost Weapons.
Forbidden Medicine – One of the best legendaries and the best healing legendary in the game. It is a legendary bomb pack that heals players in its blast radius. It’s a great choice for all different Ronin builds.
Charm
There are many charms in the game and Ronin players will use them to augment their specific builds.
For standard purple charms, players can choose the Ronin Charm to augment their class abilities such as the Healing Incense effectiveness or radius, increase spirit animal healing radius. The Ronin Charm also has 2 spirit animal perks: one to give the spirit animal a healing aura and one to turn the spirit animal into a bear. The spirit bear does more damage and throws almost all enemies, even Oni.
Enjo’s Remorse – Good charm for dealing 15% extra damage when at full health, which for the Ronin can be more frequent than other classes
Heavenly Rebuke – Used exactly for the same reason as the Stone Striker where Ronins take advantage of Heavenly Strike to interrupt enemies. It’s main advantage over the Stone Striker is that players can choose non-Stone Stance Katanas.
Ghost Weapon 1
Purple rarity Ghost Weapon 1 choices typically come down to preference. Kunai have less damage, crowd control, and damage but have the least cooldown time. The sticky bombs are the opposite while the dirt throw is somewhere in the middle.
However, most Ronin players will want to use the Spirit Kunai for its synergy with their class perk to increase ghost weapon damage.
Spirit Kunai – It is the best legendary for the Ronin and has great synergy because kills with it reset all cooldowns by 10 seconds. We recommend Ghost Weapon Damage with Cooldown Reduction on Kill for properties and Super Massive with Hidden Blades as perks. Players frequently can have 2 or 3 spirit animals at a time if enough low-level enemies are around.
Ghost Weapon 2
Most Ronin will choose between the Smoke Bomb or Caltrops based on their build or preference. The Healing Gourd usually won’t be used since the Ronin have their own healing abilities.
Caltrops are a more offensive option for Ronin players because they:
- Damage enemies that step through them
- Have the ghost weapon damage bonus property
Smoke Bombs are a more defensive and utility option for Ronin players because they:
- Do not have ghost weapon damage bonus
- Make enemies lose visibility on all players in the smoke bomb
- Give all players ranged ammo when using the Lucky perk
Regarding legendary items, most Ronin players won’t use one in this item slot since there are better legendaries.
