The Attribute Enhanced Attack, or Color, awakenings were introduced to Puzzles & Dragons in the Version 19.4 Update. These are offensive awakenings that multiply the owning card’s attack when activated.
3 Color Awakening – 2.5x Attack
4 Color Awakening – 3.5x Attack
5 Color Awakening – 4.5x Attack
How is the Color Awakening Activated?
3 Color Awakening – Activated when 3 colors attack
4 Color Awakening – Activated when 4 colors attack
5 Color Awakening – Activated when all 5 colors attack
Note: Attacking with colors is different than “matching” colors.
“Match” – clear orbs from the board.
“Attack” – clear orbs from the board and have at least one card not bound with the corresponding attribute.
How Does the Color Awakening Increase Damage?
The owning card’s damage is increased 2.5x(), 3.5x(), or 4.5x() for each awakening when attacking with the at least 3, 4, or 5 colors.
Examples:
= 2.5 x 2.5 = 6.25x Damage
= 2.5 x 2 = 5x Damage (Must make 7+ Combos and attack with 3+ colors)
= 3.5 x 3.5 = 12.25x Damage
= 4.5 x 4.5 = 20.25x Damage
Extra Note: This multiplier applies to both primary and secondary damage, if the card has both.
What Teams Best Use Color Awakenings?
– Most teams such as mono-color and combo teams can make use of cards with 3 Color awakenings. This is due to most teams have at least 3 damage types.
– Rainbow and combo teams make good use of this awakening since they are more diverse than mono-color teams.
– Rainbow and combo teams on 7×6 boards are the only teams that can consistently activate this awakening. 6×5 boards can often have 4 or less colors, making activation consistent.
Extra Note: Some cards like Akaza, 6555 have low cooldown rainbow board changers. Akaza has a 2-turn cooldown board change once transformed that will help with 5 Color activation.
