How to Get the Bottle of Liquid Courage
The Bottle of Liquid Courage is obtained as a legendary random drop when completing Ghost of Tsushima: Legends missions.
Because it doesn’t drop from a specific event, the best way to get the Bottle of Liquid Courage is to complete Nightmare difficulty missions and Tales of Iyo raids for their overall increased chance of legendary drops.
Special Ability
Refills less health on use, but also refills 1-2 Resolve.
Cooldown: 120 seconds
The Bottle of Liquid Courage’s unique feature is it fills between 1 and 2 Resolve when used and is a great option for builds that rely on Ultimate abilities. This legendary healing gourd can be used even when the player has full health.
Note: It previously refilled 1-3 Resolve but was changed in Patch 2.12.
Pros
- Great for builds that heavily rely on ultimate abilities such as the Samurai and Hunter
- Also helps with survivability for builds that have no other means of healing
- Has a 15% chance to be used multiple times in a row when it has the Lucky perk equipped

- Long cooldown can make for fewer uses when compared to other ghost weapons 2 items
- Usefulness completely dependent on importance of resolve importance and abilities
- Not great for Ronin builds
- Assassin builds prioritize smoke bombs over healing gourds for the ghost weapon 2 item

The Bottle of Liquid Courage has 5 properties that it can roll on 2 slots. Also, because it is a legendary weapon, its properties will always roll at the maximum value.
Because most players will use the Bottle of Liquid Courage for its resolve gain, Cooldown Reduction and Cooldown Reduction on Kill will be preferred for most builds.
Cooldown Reduction +15%
Decreases the cooldown of Bottle of Liquid Courage:
Cooldown: 120 seconds -> 102 seconds
Cooldown Reduction on Kill +4.0s
This property synergizes well with the Samurai or Hunter ultimate abilities since both normally get multiple kills each use.
Damage Reduction +10%
Most players will not want this item property since it takes away from lowering its cooldown.
Ghost Offering Health +10-25
Another property that will not be wanted by most players since the Bottle of Liquid Courage already heals players and does not lower its cooldown.
Injured Resolve Gain +25%
Players could use this instead of cooldown reduction but can be very unreliable since it requires the character to take damage. Most players will also skip this item property.
